Costa Rica Shuttle – Private vs. Shared
Shared Shuttles
Shared Shuttles are likely the most economical of our travel methods. Basically, you’ll be getting from point A to point B in a vehicle shared by other travelers.
The vehicles, typically 12 seat passenger vans, will be clean, air-conditioned, and driven by courteous, professional chauffeurs.
Most routes will offer both morning departure and afternoon departures. These transfers are direct, stops for sightseeing, shopping, meals, etc. are not typically an option. They will schedule a bathroom stop(s) and of course stop for emergencies.
Shared shuttles are priced per person and are route dependent.
As with everything in Costa Rica, there are some good companies and some shady ones – book through us and let Green Frog take the guess work out of the decision.
Private Shuttles
Private shuttles are just that, private, just for your group.
Private Transfers are typically a bit more expensive but they offer some distinct advantages over shared shuttles. Unlike shared shuttles, Private Shuttles can be scheduled around your group’s time frame – this makes Private Shuttles the preferred method when a certain arrival time is required, like Airport pick-ups and drop-offs for example.
Unscheduled stops are an option with Private Shuttles – stops dedicated to sightseeing, shopping, dining, etc. can be arranged with the driver. The vehicles will be similar to those used in Shared Shuttles and Coasters and Buses are available for larger groups.
Pricing for private shuttles are typically per group vs. per person.
